Therapy in English in Portugal

Living in a country that is not your own brings real richness — and quiet challenges too. For many people living in Portugal, doing therapy in their mother tongue makes all the difference: it is easier to find the right words when you do not have to translate them first.
In therapy, language is the main tool. Speaking in a second language adds a layer of effort and distance — and our deepest emotions often live in the language we grew up in. Being able to speak in English lets you get closer to what you actually feel, without losing nuance along the way.
Who this space is for
- Internationals living in Portugal, adjusting to a new life.
- Global professionals and digital nomads far from their support network.
- Multicultural couples who want a shared space in a common language.
- Portuguese people who lived abroad and feel more at ease speaking English.
Often we work on adjusting to a new country, loneliness and homesickness, questions of identity and belonging, relationships and family at a distance, anxiety, stress, and the ups and downs of starting over. You do not need to be in crisis to seek this space — wanting to understand yourself better is enough.
